AMERICA JOINING FORCES (United States)
About Joining Forces
http://www.whitehouse.gov
Joining Forces is a national initiative to engage all sectors of society to give our service members and their families the opportunities and support they have earned. Since the first days of the Administration, First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden have met with military families, learned about their successes and challenges, and made it their priority to support them.
Joining Forces creates opportunities for all Americans to step up and show their gratitude to our service members and their families. Through this effort, Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden are asking Americans to do more for those who have done so much for us. They are asking Americans to get involved in any way they can.
Dr. Jill Biden Participates in a Service Project.Primary Objectives of Joining Forces
Bring attention to the unique needs and strength of America’s military families.
Inspire, educate, and spark action from all sectors of society — citizens, communities, businesses, nonprofits, faith-based institutions, philanthropic organizations, and government — to ensure veterans and military families have the opportunities, resources, and support they have earned.
Showcase the skills, experience, and dedication of America’s veterans and military spouses to strengthen our nation’s communities.
Create greater connections between the American public and the military.
Joining Forces Commitments: Employment, Education, Wellness

Highlight the workforce potential of veterans and military spouses.
Educate employers about the need to create military family-friendly workplaces.
Work to reduce or eliminate licensing and credentialing barriers.

Ease transferability for military-connected students.
Increase job training opportunities for military spouses and veterans.

MILITARY WARRIORS SUPPORT FOUNDATION
Military Warriors Support Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, founded by Lt. General, Leroy Sisco, (Ret), in 2007. Our Mission is to provide support for our nation’s combat wounded heroes and Gold Star Families as they transition out of the military and into their new civilian life. This is a very fragile time for these heroes, and their families, and it is our goal to provide programs that facilitate a smooth and successful transition. Our programs include home donation, academic and employment assistance, as well as recreational activities.
Through Homes4WoundedHeroes, our homes donation program, we award 100% mortgage-free homes to combat wounded veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. This program is also available to Gold Star Spouses of Heroes who have fallen in combat. In addition to the home, each family receives three years of family and financial mentoring so that they may learn the skills necessary to become happy and successful homeowners. This program not only changes the lives of the hero and their family, but it also changes the lives of the generations that follow.
We also proudly provide support to ALL veterans by offering them employment assistance. Through our CEOs4Heroes program, we have developed partnerships with several top-named companies who are committed to giving veterans good-paying, career-oriented, jobs.
For family and recreational activities, we offer our Skills4Life program. Through this program, we offer family getaways, golf outings, hunting and fishing trips for 100s of heroes and their families each year.
MWSF Executive Director, Ken Eakes, brings Fortune 25 management background with experience in Leadership Development, Human Resources, Operations and Project Planning to our team. Ken is dedicated to honoring our heroes by assisting those whom have given so much. www.militarywarriors.org

The National Homeland Security Association sponsors the National Homeland Security Conference. The Conference is the annual meeting of local Homeland Security and emergency management professionals from the Nation’s largest metropolitan areas. It has become the best attended and most highly anticipated homeland security and emergency management conference of the year as it focuses on all emergency response disciplines at all levels of government.
Background
This conference was originally conceived of as an information sharing opportunity by the Charlotte and Southeast Florida Urban Areas who, along with other UASI programs, recognized a distinct need for an effective information sharing platform among UASI jurisdictions. The first conference was held in Dallas, Texas in 2005 and was supported by the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association. This conference was attended by fire chiefs and UASI administrative professionals, who recognized the need for greater information sharing. Based on this conference, participants concluded that a larger conference was needed to provide similar information sharing across all first responder disciplines from all Urban Areas. The 2007-2013 National Conferences grew exponentially to include all of the designated urban areas and representatives from critical homeland security disciplines. The conference offered panel discussions, “lessons learned” and cutting edge technology demonstrations for attendees.
The 2010 Conference, hosted by the New Orleans UASI, looked to further build upon this strong foundation by including the Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS), Port Security Grant Program (PSGP), and Transportation Security Grant Program (TSGP) participants. The inclusion of these programs provided for a greater opportunity to share best practices and lessons learned among the larger homeland security community. The exhibitors’ display area was significantly expanded to provide access to a broad array of homeland security products and services and offered an increased opportunity for attendees to speak with companies that create most up-to-date technology solutions.
The 2011 National UASI and Homeland Security Conference in San Francisco was the largest of our conferences to date and continued our legacy of providing best practices to the Homeland Security community. The 2012 conference expanded to include non-traditional Federal agencies that provide great support to regional and local emergency managers. For the first time ever, we hosted presentations on Defense Support to Civil Authorities, U.S. Northern Command, and other Federal Departments and agencies.
The National Homeland Security Association hosted its 7th annual conference in Los Angeles, California June 4-7, 2013. For the first time, we partnered with the Leadership in Counterterrorism Conference (LinCT) and the Major Cities Chiefs Intelligence Commanders Group Meeting. The theme for 2013 was: “Homeland Security Begins with Hometown Security” The conference provided an opportunity for stakeholders from all areas of homeland security and emergency preparedness to gather together and exchange important information to make our country safer

MILITARY.COM (United States)
Our Ambassador Dr.Zigmund Ziegler Cohen, is a member of Military.com, and is the representative of Admir there.
http://www.military.com
We started Military.com in 1999 to revolutionize the way the 30 million Americans with military affinity stay connected and informed. Today, we’re the largest military and veteran membership organization — 10 million members strong.
Military.com’s free membership connects servicemembers, military families and veterans to all the benefits of service — government benefits, scholarships, discounts, lifelong friends, mentors, great stories of military life or missions, and much more.
We believe that the benefits earned in the service should be easier to access and written in plain English. We’re passionate about helping members make the most of military experience throughout life.
Military.com’s members are sharing stories, insider tips, news from the front lines, and unique slices of military life including the tough stuff of war.
Military.com provides headline news and technology updates since our community answers the call and makes news. We also cover the rest of the military experience — from great content like our user-generated videos in our popular “Shock and Awe” feature to our military equipment guide we present what makes the military unique (and fun).
In 2004, Military.com joined forces with Monster Worldwide (NYSE: MWW) to accelerate our growth and change the playing field for career and educational opportunities for servicemembers, veterans and military spouses. Monster’s vision is bringing people together to advance their lives, which is a great fit with Military.com’s “members first” ethos and goal of connecting the military community to all the benefits of service.
